About Melanie
Founder of Jasper Birth & Family Support
My work is shaped by both personal and professional experience. Alongside my birth and postpartum training, I bring more than 15 years of experience supporting families through emotionally demanding and transitional periods, with a strong foundation in communication, emotional regulation, and practical support.
After becoming a mother myself, I gained a much deeper understanding of how vulnerable, overwhelming, and transformative pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood can feel —and how meaningful a steady presence can be during those transitions.
Today, I have the privilege of supporting families during one of life’s biggest transitions, helping them feel informed, supported, and confident as they welcome a new baby.
I’m currently participating in the Manhattan Birth Doula Mentorship Program and completing certification as an Integrative Feeding & Lactation Specialist to continue expanding the care I provide to growing families.

Why "Jasper"?
Jasper Birth is named after both my son, Jasper, and the jasper stone, which has long been associated with steadiness, strength, and grounding during times of change. Those qualities reflect the kind of support I hope to provide every family I work with —calm, compassionate, and steady through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.
Becoming a parent transformed my own life, and naming this practice after my son is a daily reminder of why this work matters so much to me.
